Design review
Design review is your approval to build. Nothing is manufactured for your fixture until you approve it.
What you review
We send a Design Review with:
- Links to the 3D models of the fixture and cartridge assemblies in Fusion 360, which you can open in a browser.
- The DUT report, with every test point's probe and receptacle.
Check the probe placement, the board's fit and clearances, the hold-down, and the interface and connectors. If you would like to go through the design with an engineer, ask for a meeting by replying to the email or in the chat on your order page.
Approve or request changes
- Approve within 1 business day to release the design to manufacturing.
- Request changes with notes, and attach marked-up screenshots or files if that helps. Each note becomes an action item for the design team. We return the order to fixture design, or to interface design if the change affects the interface, then send the review again.
Changes that fix the design against what you ordered are part of the project. A change to the scope of the order, such as different boards, test points or options, is a change request. See Changes and revisions.
After you approve
We prepare the order for manufacturing: we finalize the bill of materials, generate the machining files and work instructions, and release the manufacturing order. On Production orders, the NRE invoice is issued at design review approval. See Invoicing.
