Changes and revisions

There are two kinds of change during a project: revisions you ask for at an approval, and changes to the scope of the order.

Revisions at an approval

Every approval gives you two choices, Approve or Request changes. When you request changes:

  1. Add a note describing what needs to change. You can attach files, such as marked-up screenshots.
  2. We make the changes and send you the updated review.
  3. You approve it, or request further changes.

This applies to the Fixture Configuration Review, the interface approvals, design review and the QA review. Respond to each round within 1 business day to keep the ship date.

Changing the scope of the order

A change request is a change to what you ordered, such as a new board revision, more test points, a different interface or added fixture options. When you send one:

  1. We pause the project clock while we assess the impact. The pause doesn't count against your lead time.
  2. We tell you the impact on cost and schedule.
  3. We agree on one of three outcomes:
    • Absorb: the change is small enough to fold into the current order with no change to price or ship date.
    • Change order: we quote the change separately. When you approve it, the project restarts with a fresh kickoff at the start of the next business week.
    • Restart: the change is large enough that the order is re-scoped and starts over.

Late inputs

Approvals, the pin-mapping worksheet, feedthrough requirements and answers to our questions are due within 1 business day. A Consigned TPCB design package is due within 6 business days. A late input is not a change request: the work that needs it waits, and the ship date moves out by the same amount. See How your ship date is set.

Pausing or cancelling

If you need to pause or cancel an order, contact your project lead. We'll confirm what has been completed and ordered so far, and how that affects the order.
